SYRIZA’s Nikos Voutsis commented that Greece’s partners have committed to a settlement of the Greek public debt, irrespective of the government that is formed after the upcoming elections, in response to rumors regarding the necessity of a broad coalition.

Mr. Voutsis further explained that if his party is unable to form a government on its own, it will aim to forma government in a “progressive directions”.

As such, Mr. Voutsis hinted that there was a possibility of cooperating with PASOK or the River, given the convergence on a number of policies. At the same time though he ruled out any chance of a coalition with New Democracy, arguing that “ND is traditional the opponent, the other pole in the political system”.
