The former president of PASOK Evangelos Venizelos commented on the Prime Minister’s decision to call a snap election and stated that “the easy lies of the previous elections and the referendum deeply harmed the country, the harm continues by calling elections once again for purely inter-party reasons”.
Mr. Venizelos added that his party has always told the truth and that “nobody has the right to say they did not know”. He further estimated that if those in power continue to run the country, without a strategy to exit the crisis or a plan for the future, then the uncertainty will continue, as the possibility of a Grexit looms.
In concluding his statement Mr. Venizelos underlined that the Greek people must now make a mature decision and “enforce the truth, common sense, national joint responsibility and to protect the future”.
