New Democracy MP and Vice President of Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis underlined that his party will back the reform proposal that will be discussed in Parliament, in a Friday morning interview on Mega Channel.
Mr. Kaklamanis explained that the founder of his party was the one who put Greece in Europe and as such, will support the coalition government’s proposal. He noted though that the procedure is not only unprecedented, but also “a bit humiliating”, as the proposal has been submitted in English, “a first in the history of Parliament”.
The New Democracy MP also underlined that the coalition government’s cohesion may now by at stake, as certain key members have expressed their opposition to the deal.
Meanwhile, New Democracy’s expanded political council has arranged to meet under provisions president Evangelos Meimarakis at its central offices at 10:30am.
