The conditions under which a young couple ended up in the Kifissos River near Agia Anni in Renti on Tuesday morning are a mystery.
As soon as the couple was noticed, the emergency services were contacted and four fire brigade vehicles with 12 firefighters were sent out, along with ambulances. The couple –a foreign man and a Greek woman – was injured and after being recovered the two were taken to local hospital.
It has not yet been determined how they ended up in the river, as the motorcycle which they were riding was located parked nearby and there have not been any reports of any traffic incidents.
