The leader of the River Stavros Theodorakis has argued that the new President of the Hellenic Republic must come from outside of the political system, in an interview he gave to ANT1 on Monday morning.

Mr. Theodorakis explained that there is no need to seek out a new President from the political world, since there are many distinguished scientists who are recognized by the international community.

Regarding the rumored candidacy of Dimitris Avramopoulos, the leader of the River argued that Mr. Avramopoulos has been given the critical portfolio of migration policy, which may be lost.

He also noted that as a powerful Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras should not feel the need to apologize to his party, but rather “the country’s history”.
