A decrease of 10.3% was recorded in the volume of building activity in Greece in the 11 months between January and November 2014.

According to provisional data published by the Hellenic Statistical Authority, in November 2014 the Total Building Activity (private-public), in the country as a whole -which is calculated on the basis of the number of issued building permits in the country- amounted to 1,088. This div corresponds to 210.7 thousand m² of surface and 837.9 thousand m³ of volume, reflecting respectively a 30.9% decrease in the number of building permits, a 34.3% decrease in surface and a 37.3% decrease in volume, compared to the same month of 2013.

Private Building Activity in the country as a whole, amounted to 1,079 building permits, corresponding to 204.7 thousand m² of surface and 814.6 thousand m³ of volume. In comparison with the same month of 2013, there is a 30.6% decrease in the number of building permits, a 33.7% decrease in surface and a 36.4% decrease in volume.

Public Building Activity in the country as a whole in November 2014 amounted to 9 building permits, corresponding to 6.0 thousand m² of surface and 23.3 thousand m³ of volume. Public Building Activity accounted for 2.8% of the total building volume in November 2014.
