In the first reaction from a top European official after the policy statements of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, European Commission president Jean–Claude Juncker stresses that the Greek government must not assume “the euro zone would simply accept all the promises its leftist leader Alexis Tsipras made to Greek voters about scrapping economic reforms”.
The Greek PM, the EC President continued, had «only partly addressed» Brussels’ concerns about his plans in a speech in Athens on Sunday. According to Reuters Juncker’s statements came before his talks with representatives of Germany’s Social Democrats (SPD).
