The clash between governing party New Democracy and the main opposition party SYRIZA over the recent stock market crisis continued, as MPs exchanged accusations.

New Democracy spokesman Adonis Georgiadis argued that after Bloomberg reported that SYRIZA was ahead of New Democracy by 6.5 points the markets changed their stance towards Greece. Mr. Georgiadis lamented that “unfortunately the markets from now on are not just listening to Samaras, they are also listening to Tsipras. What do you expect from the markets when they hear all this nonsense about tearing everything up when they come to power?”

SYRIZA MP Giorgos Stathakis responded to the accusations and countered that the coalition government “rushed” to draft its own plans for exiting the supervision of the IMF. Mr. Stathakis added “this however is not endorsed by the other side”.
