The spokesman for SYRIZA Panos Skourletis has accuse the coalition government of a “direct intervention” in NERIT’s management, in order to not broadcast Alexis Tsipras’ speech and press conference at the Thessaloniki International Fair.

Based on media reports, Mr. Tsipras’ speech at the TIF will not be broadcast live and appears to be reason behind the sudden resignation of NERIT president Antonis Makrydimitris and Deputy Managing Consultant Rodolphos Moronis.

Mr. Skourletis commented on SKAI that NERIT’s content director had told him that the public broadcaster would decided how it would cover Mr. Tsipras’ visit to Thessaloniki for the fair and that Mr. Makrydimitris later assured him that both interviews would be broadcast as normal.

The SYRIZA spokesman argued that Mr. Makrydimitris and Mr. Moronis were forced to resign from their posts due to government intervention.
