The Minister of Administrative Reform Kyriakos Mitsotakis appeared on Mega Channel on Friday morning and repeated his claim that the controversial public sector staff reviews will not result in dismissals.

Mr. Mitsotakis argued that “those who associate the 15% quota [of employees graded below average] with dismissals are simply lying” and stressed that the review system was meant to improve efficiency in the public sector.

Furthermore, the Minister claimed that “the only way to point out to some that they are not doing their job well is through the compulsory quotas” and stated that the reviews will allow supervisors to evaluate employees.

The Minister noted that all public sector employees must complete the necessary evaluation forms in accordance with the relevant legislation, otherwise their supervisors will carry out the review for them.

Mr. Mitsotakis also alleged that the reactions against the staff reviews were attributed to SYRIZA.
