The Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiadis, who recently visited Athens, met with the leader of the opposition Alexis Tsipras and discussed the latest developments in the talks on the Cypriot dispute.

After being informed by the Cypriot President, Mr. Tsipras expressed his concern about the developments since the Turkish side insists on its policy of intransigence. The opposition leader praised the initiatives to pressure Turkey and argued that Greece and Cyprus must expand their influence.

During his stay in Athens, the Cypriot President has arranged to meet with all political leaders, except Golden Dawn. On Monday Mr. Anastasiadis met with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.
