The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has published its latest seasonally adjusted divs on the labor force for June 2016, according to which the unemployment rate was 23.4%, compared to 24.9% in June 2015 and the upward revised 23.6% in May 2016.

The number of employed amounted to 3,674,957 persons, the number of unemployed to 1,124,541, while the number of inactive – namely persons who neither worked, nor looked for a job – to 3,249,057.

The employed increased by 61,612 compared to June 2015 (+1.7%) and by 14,961 compared to May 2016 (+0.4%), while the unemployed decreased by 73,477 (-6.1%) compared to June 2015 and by 6,722 compared to May 2016 (-0.6%). The number of inactive persons decreased by 27,342 (-0.8%) compared to June 2015, and by 11,361 compared to May 2016 (-0.3%).
