The Greek national football team is scheduled to face Gibraltar in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup, which will be held in Russia. Kick off is at 21:45.

Although the Greek team failed to qualify to the 2016 Euro competition, Michael Skibbe’s squad has improved, as evident by the recent 2-1 win against the Netherlands. Team captain and right back Vasilis Torosidis may sit the match out, as he is experiencing a minor injury.

At present the coach for the Greek team is planning to start with Karnezis under the goal posts, Torosidis, Manolas, Papastathopoulos and Tzavellas in defense, Maniatis and Samaris as defensive midfielders, with Fortounis, Mantalos and Bakasetas as the offensive midfielders behind striker Kostas Mitroglou.
