The men’s national basketball team is scheduled to play against Iran in on Monday for the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, which is taking place in Turin.
Greece will also face Mexico on Wednesday in the preliminary round of the tournament, in hopes of making it to the final on Saturday. The other group features Croatia, Italy and Tunisia. The tournament winner will qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Head coach Fotis Katsikaris has selected the following 12 to represent Greece in the tournament: Yannis Athinaiou, Yannis Bourousis, Nick Calathes, Stratos Perperoglou, Vangelis Mantaris, Dimitris Agravanis, Yannis Papapetrou, Vasilis Charalambopoulos, Giorgos Bogrin, Yannis Antetokounmpo, Kostas Koufos and Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
