After the thunderstorms earlier in the week, the temperature across Greece gradually rose, with the National Meteorology Service (EMY) expecting 40º to 41º over the weekend.

In greater detail, on Saturday and Sunday the temperature in Epirus and the north of Greece will range from 36º to 38º. Meanwhile in Thessaly, Central Greece and Peloponnesus, it will be warmer, with temperatures reaching 39º to 41º. The weather will be milder in Crete and the Aegean islands, where temperatures will peak at about 35º to 37º.

On Monday, which also happens to be Day of the Holy Spirit, there will be a minor drop in temperature in western and northern sections of the country, however in the rest it will remain high. By Tuesday though, the temperature in eastern sections will also begin to drop, signaling the end of the heatwave.
