The Greek ambassador in Prague, Panagiotis Sarris, has been recalled by the Greek government, following the controversial statements of Czech President Miloš Zeman.

Mr. Zeman recently commented on the Slovakian news agency TASR that his country is prepared to join the euro, provided that Greece is first expelled from the single currency zone. He also expressed his “disappointment” that the summer negotiations did not result in Grexit.

A few days ago, the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias summoned the Czech ambassador in Athens. During the discussion, the Greek side complained about the provocative statement of the top Czech state official.
