The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has published its latest divs on the general government’s quarterly non-financial accounts for the first quarter of 2015.

According to the data, the general government’s revenue was 16.817 billion euros during the first quarter of 2015, about 1.104 billion euros less compared to last year, when revenue amounted to 17.921 billion euros.

Meanwhile, expenses increased by about 800 million euros, from 20.006 billion euros in 2014 to 20.809 billion euros in 2015/ This wa primarily caused by the increase of primary expenses from 18.225 billion euros in 2014 to 19.112 billion in 2015.

Furthermore, ELSTAT shows that the public debt came to 301.527 billion euros in the first quarter of 2015, down from 315.025 billion euros during the same period last year. The reduction is attributed to the amount of 10.9 billion euros returned to the European Financial Stability Fund (EFSF) from the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) and the 2.8 billion euros paid to the IMF.
