The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT published the results of surveys on the income inequality and the risk of poverty, income and living conditions in Greece, with reference income period the year 2013.

According to ELSTAT”s divs, the wealthiest 20% of the Greek population had an income that was 6.5 times greater than that of the poorest 20%. The divs also show that more than 1 in 3 Greeks, namely 3,884,700 were at risk-of-poverty or social exclusion.

ELSTAT’s divs show that the mean annual income in 2013 was 8,879 euros (12,270 for households). The poverty threshold was defined at 4,068 euros annually for a single person and 9,677 for a household with two adults and two children under the age of 14.
