The Austrian Minister of Finances Hans Jörg Schelling was clarified that Greece will not be receiving any aid unconditionally, following Sunday’s referendum.

Mr. Schelling commented that the outcome Sunday’s referendum was ‘disappointing’, but noted that the Eurogroup is expecting clear proposals by the Greek government.

Furthermore, he told Die Presse that Europe would only suffer a little bit, if Greece were to leave the Eurozone, while the consequences for Greece would be considerably worse.

While Greece will need humanitarian aid in case of a ‘Grexit’, he argued that the fear of widespread poverty to be ‘exaggerated’.
