The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT published its latest divs on unemployment and found that the rate remained unchanged at 25.6% in March 2015, compared to February 2015, but dropped from 26.9% in March 2014.

ELSTAT’s survey also reveals that the number of employed in March 2015 amounted to 3,518,858 persons. Additionally, the number of unemployed amounted to 1,211,507 while the number of inactive to 3,368,392.

The number of employed increased by 14,056 persons compared with March 2014 (+0.4%) and decreased by 16,092 persons compared with February 2015 (-0,5%). Unemployed decreased by 79,395 persons (-6.2%) compared with March 2014 and by 4,283 persons compared with February 2015 (-0,4%).

As for inactive persons – namely persons that neither worked neither looked for a job– increased by 13,891 persons (+0,4%) compared with March 2014 and by 16,751 persons compared with February 2015 (+0,5%).
