The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT revealed that the rate of unemployment dropped to 25.4% in February, according to its latest divs on the country’s workforce.

ELSTAT’s divs show that the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in February 2015 was 25.4% compared to 27.2% in February 2014 and 25.6% in January 2015.

Furthermore, the number of employed amounted to 3,549,166 persons. The number of unemployed amounted to 1,205,857 while the number of inactive to 3,347,358.

The number of employed increased by 55,454 persons compared with February 2014 (+1.6%) and by 7,662 persons compared with January 2015 (+0,2%).

Unemployed decreased by 97,512 persons (-7.5%) compared with February 2014 and by 15,097 persons compared with January 2015 (-1,2%).

The number of inactive persons – persons that neither worked neither looked for a job – decreased by 10,156 (-0,3%) compared with February 2014 and increased by 3,797 persons compared with January 2015 (+0,1%).
