Economist Paul Krugman has argued in his latest blog entry that Germany is trying to force the SYRIZA-led government in Greece to abandon its proclamations and stresses that German policy is “objectively pro-Grexit”.

Mr. Krugman explains that the Greek proposal aims to buy the new government the necessary time to compose an economic strategy and negotiate more favorable terms for the loan.

The German resistance to the carefully-crafted Greek request though is indicative of the “pro-Grexit” attitude of German politics, which, “given the likely fallout” [is also] objectively pro-Golden Dawn”.
