Top New Democracy (ND) executives believe president Antonis Samaras is politically finished and are now discussing the manner and process of his questioning.

A dinner of top executives last night, the forthcoming meeting of the party’s parliamentary group and the convene of its political committee at the end of the month are expected to be the main points that will show what will happen in the future. The central message of yesterday’s meeting was that the party must turn over a new leaf.

While Mr. Samaras was in Brussels to attend the EPP meeting, the ND executives exchanged concerns about the situation in the country on the basis of the government’s negotiations with its institutional partners and raised the issue for the party’s president.

They estimated that a delegation should immediately reach former Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis to investigate his intentions and to take initiatives, thus fully confirming the To Vima‘s Sunday report.

The question for the party executives now is how to directly address the situation in the ND, while suggestions were also expressed towards a straightforward challenging.
