New Democracy President Antonis Samaras is in Brussels to attend the European People’s Party (EPP) Summit.
Samaras will have the opportunity to speak with most European leaders – members of the EPP and is reportedly expected to support the Greek national effort, noting the need to avoid losing the huge sacrifices of the Greek people in recent years.
He will talk again about the achievements of his government and especially the fact that Greece has met its commitments so far in achieving primary surpluses and putting the country on the growth track.
His had already announced his intention to support the Greek national effort in his speech at the Greek Parliament during the debate on the government’s policy statements, saying that «he who loves his country wants this government to succeed«.
Samaras added that his side will not jeopardiζe the Εuropean future of Greece, and will continue to support the current government wherever they see fit.
