The detained Golden Dawn MP Ilias Kasidiaris is to testify in relation to the Baltakos scandal on the 5th of March, after requesting some time to prepare.
After receiving the extension to prepare for his deposition, Kasidiaris stated that he “said the truth and now [he is] paying the cost, because, instead of examining Baltakos’ accusations, they are sending me to testify and to prison”.
The neo-Nazi party MP is facing felony charge after secretly videotaping a conversation he had with Takis Baltakos in November 2013, who at time was the coalition government’s general secretary. In the conversation between the two Baltakos appeared overtly critical of the ongoing investigation into the neo-Nazi party’s criminal activities.
Following the publication of the controversial video, the disgraced Baltakos was forced to resign from his position. Last Friday he testified that he was not aware that he was being videotaped during the conversation.
