The government Vice President Yannis Dragasakis met with the president of Piraeus Bank Michalis Sallas [pictured] on Monday in order to discuss plans to reboot the Greek economy.

According to the official reports, the two discussed matters related to encouraging financial activity and specifically matters related to funding the economy. The meeting was reportedly conducted in a friendly atmosphere.

Mr. Dragasakis has often spoken of “velvet changes” that will not affect the interests of private shareholders, but will ensure that the state representatives on the boards can monitor the bank managements. Current legislation does not allow State representatives to have a say in the appointment of managements at the banks.
