The Hellenic Authors Society announced the first “Menis Koumantareas Award” for emerging authors and writers, in memory of the author, who was recently murdered.

According to the statement released, Menis Koumantareas supported young writers and was often cited as a bright example of the writing tradition that emerged in Greece in the 1930s and from the post-war authors.

The judging committee of the Menis Koumantareas Award is comprised of authors Thanasis Valtinos, Maro Douka and Achilleas Kyriakidis.
