Sources from the Ministry of Finances have disputed rumors circulating of a written proposal for a six-month extension of the bailout program being presented at the Euroworking Group.

The same source stress that some countries debated a long-term extension, the Greek side has insisted that it is only considering a technical extension of the program for “a few weeks” and have ruled out a longer extension. Furthermore, the Ministry argued that Euroworking group has urged the troika and coalition government to come to an agreement for the completion of the fifth and final review by the 14th of December.

The Euroworking Group’s aim is complete the negotiations as soon as possible so that the EU member states can debate and approve the much-debated precautionary credit line. Given the pressing time limits a short-term “technical” extension may be granted.
