Former PASOK MP and veteran officer Christos Protopapas revealed that during the latest round of negotiations in Paris the troika demanded the reduction of pensions and increase of taxes. Mr. Protopapas responded that these were not possible and not necessary.

Mr. Protopapas, who attended the talks in Paris on behalf of PASOK, underlined that the coalition government would not accept a six-month extension of the current bailout program. The government spokeswoman Sofia Voultepsi added that “a technical extension” of the bailout may be granted “if necessary”.
