The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has released a report according which the industrial production index dropped by 5.1% in September 2014 compared to September 2013.

Additionally, the statistics authority notes that in the nine-month period from January to September 2014, industrial production recorded a 3.4% decline, compared to a 2.7% decline documented in the previous year.

According to ELSTAT, the decline in September 2014 is attributed to the 5.7% drop in the mining and quarrying production, a 2.1% drop in the manufacturing production, a 15.2% drop in electricity production and a 3.2% drop in water supply production.
