The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has published its latest divs on retail trade, according to which the turnover of May 2014 was 7.2% less than April 2014 and 8.5% less than in May 2013.

Furthermore, the Volume Index in retail trade was reduced by 3.8% compared to May 2013 and 5.1% compared to April 2014.

Overall, retail sales have dropped by a significant 40 between 2008 and 2013, as a result of the austerity and six-year recession.
