Judges, prosecutors and judicial employees announced a walkout for today, between 10am and 3pm, in protest of the inadequate security measures at most courthouses. The walkout came in response to a recent knife attack, which the judge and prosecutor union condemned.

The union took the opportunity to underline the necessity for improving the security measures, while the president of the Athens Bar Association Yannis Adamopoulos commented that the lack of security has “a direct impact on those who work in the courts or happen to go by those places –such as judges, judicial employees, lawyers and ordinary citizens”.
