The former Minister of Public Order Yannis Panousis reported that he submitted all of the evidence he has available to the prosecutror, who will in turn consider whether there is reason to address criminal charges. “The political system was unable to burns its carcinomas and now is the time for justice” he told journalists on his way out of the prosecutor’s office.

Mr. Panousis was summoned by Supreme Court prosecutor Efterpi Koutzamani at 11am on Monday mornig in order to testify on his recent allegations of threats against his life from SYRIZA party officers with alleged ties to terrorism.

To Vima contacted the former Minister, who responded that “the matter is more political than criminal”, adding that he does “not want to publicize the names, but since this is the choice at a top level I will submit them to the prosecutor. Of course I will not be responsible for the publication of any names”.

According to the allegations of Mr. Panousis a number of SYRIZA party officials had developed close ties with imprisoned criminals and anarchists, so of whom had targeted the former Minister and carried out armed attacks.
