The Greek government’s top financial officers will have a teleconference with the institutions quartet on Friday evening or Saturday, in an effort to find a solution for critical prior actions, ahead of the Eurogroup that will take place on Monday. Meanwhile, rumors circulating as of noon on Friday suggest that the teleconference may be postponed.

The main problems are related to the auctions of primary residences and the possibility of alternative measures in the case of the 23% VAT in education. The Alternate Minister of Finances Tryfon Alexiadis stated earlier in Parliament that the government will announce its decisions on these issues by Friday.

Should the EWG and Greek side come to an understanding at Friday’s teleconference, then the Greek delegation will confidently head to Brussels for Monday’s Eurogroup. Should the twos sides be unable to reach an agreement though, then financing will remain restricted until the next Eurogroup, in early December.
