SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras argued that “we must get rid of this system that is keeping the country’s political life hostage” and that he intends to create a stable economic environment in Greece, in a interview for the SBC television network.

When asked whether former SYRIZA officers may return to the party, Mr. Tsipras hinted that there was no such possibility, but commented that he has no hard feelings, while underlining the need to “get one’s hands dirty” in order to be useful to the country and to be able to help those in need.

Mr. Tsipras stressed that over the next four years he intends to make major changes and reforms in Greece, which he argues has worried the system, which had initially made plans for SYRIZA’s electoral win in January to merely be a “left-wing parenthesis”.

Later on the president of SYRIZA stated that the recapitalization of the banks will conclude in November and that bank deposits are fully guaranteed. He also estimated that if Greece does not return to the markets in 2016, it will do so in 2016, underlining his goal of establishing a stable economic environment.
