A Ministry of Finances officer has told To Vima that the banks are not expected to open, with the bank holiday set to continue. The banks closed two weeks ago, with the introduction of capital controls.

The Finance Ministry officer did not clarify how long the bank holiday would last.

Meanwhile, the Alternate Minister of Finances Dimitris Mardas has arranged a meeting with management representatives of the Greek banks at the General Accounting Office.

The purpose of the meeting is to review the situation, in light of the recent Summit agreement and the imminent decisions of the European Central Bank regarding additional liquidity via the ELA mechanism.
