A demonstration is being held outside the Ministry of Finances by pensioners who are demanding that they be paid their full pensions, rather than collecting them in weekly 120-euro installments.
Since the introduction of capital controls, cash withdrawals have been limited to 60 euros per day from ATMs, however pensioners who do not have a cash card are allowed to withdraw 120 euros from a number of banks that opened for this purpose.
The bank holiday was recently extended to Monday the 13th of July and will later be revised, following the negotiations and Sunday’s crucial European Summit.
