A 29-year-old doctor in Kozani has complained of a patient hurling racist abuse at her, as he was being treated. The 29-year-old Godwin Solace Akpevwe, who is of Nigerian descent, detailed her dramatic experience on Mega Channel.
According to Dr. Akpevwe, she was on call when the patient arrived at the hospital complaining about a shortness of breath. As his condition was critical, the doctor urged the patient to quickly lay down, so that he could be treated. It appears that the patient was bothered and began shouting, while the patient’s wife complained that the doctors were “rushing too much”.
When the patient eventually calmed down and was administered the necessary medication he turned around and told Dr. Akpevwe that she “needs a Hitler”. The doctor’s response was to contact the authorities. When the police arrived the patient initially denied the allegation, but eventually admitted his racist outburst and attempted to apologize. The doctor chose not to approach him as he considers him “dangerous”.
