The “Three Circles” sculpture of George Zongolopoulos, which has been put on display on the seafront in Thessaloniki, was vandalized on Monday evening.

According to reports, damages have been caused to the stainless steel sculpture, which is located in the “Garden of Scuptures” in Thessaloniki. The vandals managed to removed one of the circles from the sculpture, which was thrown nearby.

The municipal authorities in Thessaloniki discussed the vandalism, with Mayor Yannis Boutaris announcing that the seafront will be regularly inspected. The head of the municipal opposition Stavros Kalafatis however commented that the sculpture remains exposed.
