About one million taxpayers, who were expecting to see their ENFIA tax clearances reduced, after the government announced a series of discounts, were in for a surprise on Tuesday evening, when logged online to the Taxisnet and saw that nothing has changed. The deadline for the payment of the second ENFIA installment is on Friday, the 31st of October.

Specifically, about 600,000 taxpayers who expected to see their real estate property ownership tax drop by 20% were disappointed. A further 400,000 taxpayers who were to receive 50% or 100% discounts also did not see any discounts applied to their tax clearances due to the system taking into consideration various benefits, which the Finance Ministry had promised to disregard in this case.

The Ministry of Finances claims attributed the problem with the 600,000 taxpayers, who were to receive 20% on non-electrified property, to incorrectly filling out the E2 and E9 tax forms. Regarding the other 400,000 taxpayers, the Ministry will submit a provision in Parliament in order to settle the problems.
