The talks between Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, Eurogroup chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem and Germany’s Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble in an effort to overcome the latest impasse continue.

On Wednesday evening the European Commission President spoke with the Greek Prime Minister and Eurogroup Chairman and is expected to contact the German Finance Minister on Thursday.

The Greek Prime Minister asked the European Council President Donald Tusk to call a European summit meeting, who later rejected the request and counter-proposed a Eurogroup meeting. The two are scheduled to talk again on Thursday morning.
