SYRIZA came to power by outright denouncing the old political system and the problems it carried. A few months went by and it turned out that the new it claimed was actually rather old. The state has been occupied by all means. Party officers, former MPs, relatives and friends are being appointed at ministries, public services and political offices.

It is just not that the promises have been broken; it is the complete distortion of reality. It is the attempt to justify the cronyism with the struggles and sacrifices of the past, which is a far cry from the moral tradition of the left. The culmination of all this is the brazen intervention of the youth secretary, who boasted about the appointment of relatives and his friend, in the name of the services they have offered to the party and the fighting tradition of his family!

In a very short time they have managed to literally scrap the infamous moral advantage of the left that SYRIZA officers invoked before the elections. Without any shame or pretense, they provoke society and public sentiment, surpassing the worst traditions of the previous government.

With hundreds of thousands of unemployed, with thousands of young emigrating to survive, they are eschewing all sense of meritocracy in order to settle their own and take over the state mechanism.

It is really surprising that nobody in the SYRIZA leadership and the government has realized that the age of society putting up with such anti-democratic practices and traditions is long gone and that sooner or later, even the most well-intended who believed the expectations they had cultivated, will turn their back.

Aside from the bailouts and measures, these provocative and disdainful attitudes cannot be justified or tolerated. More so when they are carried out by a government from the left and those who sacrificed themselves for those ideas…
