The former New Democracy Minister Marietta Giannakou expressed her intention to not favor either of the party’s presidential candidates Evangelos Meimarakis or Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Mrs. Giannakou however underlined that it is encouraging that both candidates have good features and that New Democracy’s renewal must come from within the party.

She further argued that the party’s practice of appointing officers with little to no experience or skills to critical positions is to blame for New Democracy’s inability to attract voters.

Finally, the former Education Minister emphasized that New Democracy is a democratic party and as such must promote meaningful debate.
