The outgoing years has turned out to be one of the most problematic in recent times.
From the start there were many upheavals and consecutive waves of insecurity for the Greek people.
The one crisis came after the other and on two or three occasions Greece was directly threatened with an expulsion from the euro zone.
The country was saved at the last moment after a painful compromise, which put its mark on the finances and society in 2015.
It is common belief among the Greek people that 2015 was an unfortunate year, full of levies, taxes and the prolongation of painful bailouts.
The question now in Greece is whether 2016 will herald the start of a period of stability and progress, or if it will maintain the bad tradition of 2015 and see the country back on the brink of catastrophe.
Obviously everyone hopes and wishes for the country to overcome the long-term crisis once and for all, by finally achieving the necessary financial stability, progress and growth.
Mr. Tsipras however now has the absolute responsibility. There are no excuses or mitigating circumstances.
The Prime Minister and his government now have the experienced, are aware how the game is played in Europe, have the full responsibility and ownership of the rescue agreement and cannot claim to be unaware or deceived.
They are grown ups, they undertook this mission on their own free will, addressed the Greek people and were voted in to implement the deal and now they have a duty to execute it without any delay or complaint.
Nobody can safely predict if the government will manage to get the country out of the crisis, as promised.
The only certainty is that the people do not want to relive what they experienced in 2015.
