The bill on civil partnerships will be voted upon in the Greek Parliament on Tuesday, after the Minister of Justice Nikos Paraskevopoulos submitted a number of technical legislative changes.
Among the chances included is a provision to clarify that the civil partnership bill does not cover adoption from same-sex couples. As such, the bill will be supported by SYRIZA, the River and the Union of Centrists. New Democracy has yet to decide, while PASOK warned that it will determine its stance based on the changes adopted.
The government partners Independent Greeks, the neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn and the Communist Party are against the bill, although the latter may adopt a different stance on particular articles in the bill.
