The spokesperson for the European Commission Annika Breidthardt commented “significant steps for restoring the credibility and confidence” were taken with the completion of the second reform package, the successful implementation of the first package and the bank recapitalization.
Mrs. Breidthardt further noted that the talks between Greek authorities and the technical teams will continue in order to complete the second package of milestones. The second list of prior actions was submitted in Parliament over the weekend and is expected to be voted upon on Tuesday.
Should the bill pass through Parliament, then the Euro Working Group will convene and formally approve the disbursement of 1 billion euros in aid towards Greece.
