After coming under major fire for a series of controversial homophobic statements last week, in response to the Greek government’s initiative to introduce legislation on same-sex civil partnerships, the Metropolitan Bishop of Kalavryta Amvrosios responded with a new blog post.
In his latest post entitled “Sodom and Gomorrah” and addressed to “the modern people” who were offended by his outburst, the controversial bishop accused the media of misinterpreting and twisting his statements and cited extracts from holy texts. Amvrosios attempts to defend the stance he took against the “legalization of anomalous marital relationships«.
