The Alternate Minister of Finances Tryfon Alexiadis has categorically rejected the possibility of a retroactive tax for income declared for 2015, in an interview on Vima 99.5 FM on Tuesday.

According to Mr. Alexiadis even if there was such an intention, there is not enough time to process the changes. He added that there are some minor procedural and organizational changes which may be introduced.

When asked about the tax-free threshold, Mr. Alexiadis explained that receipts and use of credit and debit cards will be instrumental. Only the elderly and those living in remote areas or some islands may be exempt from the use of cards.
