Greek swimming champion Andreas Vazaios has qualified to the finals of the 200 meter medley race of the 18th LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships, as well as setting a nationwide record in the preliminary races on Friday morning.
Vazaios finished fourth over overall in the race with a record time of 1:54:82 and as such will compete in the finals, which are scheduled for 18:05 on Friday. Earlier in the competition, the Greek champion came seventh in the 100 meters breaststroke race.
The previous Greek record of 1:55:26 was held by Romanos Alifantis since 2009.
