The provisional leader of the main opposition party New Democracy Evangelos Meimarakis is beginning to unfold his party strategy in the upcoming election and appeared confident in a Tuesday morning interview.
When asked about the snap election, Mr. Meimarakis told journalists that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras “wants to escape, he does not want the responsibility” of implementing the measures to which he signed.
Mr. Meimarakis also expressed his confidence regarding September’s critical electoral battle, arguing that his party will come first.
